Thank you to Louise Williams for running the 2019 Asics London 10k

Huge thanks to Louise Williams, Clinical Nurse Specialist on the Paediatric and Adolescent Complex Gynaecology Clinic at UCLH. Louise and her partner Gareth ran the 2019 Asics London 10k on Sunday 21st July and raised much needed funds for a patient open day, which provides patients with the opportunity to come together and talk about how their condition affects them and to access information.

Louise told us "We are so very grateful to UCL Hospitals Charitable Foundation for giving us the opportunity to run in the British 10km in order to raise funds for my patient open day. I have been a nurse specialist here at UCLH for the last four and a half years, and I support patients with complex congenital gynaecology conditions. These are conditions which are often very rare and so many patients would not have the opportunity to meet one another and talk about their often very difficult experiences, while also being able to gain some further information from speakers with expertise in the field on topics including surrogacy, urology, womb transplant, research and hormone health. The feedback we receive from these open days lets me know that while it takes a lot to coordinate these open days, they are so incredibly valuable."

We are extremely grateful to Gareth and Louise for running on our behalf and raising much needed funds.

If you would like to support us by taking part in one of our events please contact hannah.persaud@nhs.net to discuss this further. Thank you.
