For the past two years our events programme has been severely hindered by Covid-19, with the majority of in person events cancelled. However, 2022 and 2023 look set for a return to normality, so why not take a look at the events we've got coming up and consider taking on a challenge?

 

GREAT ITALIAN LAKES CHALLENGE

4th October 2022

 

This exciting and beautiful route is so much more than a journey between two iconic Italian cities – on the way it takes in three of the great Italian lakes: Garda, Como and Iseo, as well as the Romeo and Juliet city of Verona. With a route that takes you from Venice on the Adriatic Coast, though flat plains and forested hills to the famous lakes-and-mountains scenery of Lombardy, there’s enough variety to please any cyclist. 

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £99 and then raise a minimum of £2,000 payable 10 weeks before departure.


CYCLE PORTUGAL

8th October 2022

 

Cycle the length of Portugal! This classic journey follows the fabled N2, Portugal's answer to Route 66, for over 700km from historic Chaves in the north to Faro in the sunny south. With long days in the saddle offset by shorter ones, and the long steady climbs rarely steep, this challenge ticks all the boxes - the epic achievement of pedalling the length of a country, at an achievable pace with a hefty dose of cultural discovery!

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £299 and then raise a minimum of £3,600 payable 10 weeks before departure.

 

 

INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU

15th October 2022 

 

Machu Picchu is one of the most iconic sights in South America, and is the culminaton of this magnificent Inca Trail trek through the Peruvian Andes. Trek this breathtakingly beautiful route through valleys and high passes, scattered with fascinating Inca ruins. Following Inca-paved paths and steps, the route takes you up through lush cloudforest to the demanding Dead Woman's Pass (4200m). Continually climbing up or dropping down, the way is steep at times, and the altitude adds to the challenge. When you finally arrive at the Sun Gate, which overlooks Machu Picchu, your first magical glimpse will provide an unforgettable reward for your efforts. 

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £499 and then raise a minimum of £4,050 payable 10 weeks before departure.

 

SNOWDON BY NIGHT

10th June 2023

 

Snowdonia National Park in North Wales is synonmous with beautiful, rugged landscapes and wonderful trekking and outdoor pursuits. The highest mountain in England and Wales at 1,085m, Snowdon's Welsh name is Yr Wyddfa, reputedly the burial place of a mythical giant. A popular summit trek by day-time, it forms a real challenge by night. Standing at the summit by moonlight will be an unforgettable experience, as will seeing the sunrise from the mountain slopes as you descend and witnessing the spectacular landscapes opening up before you as the day grows lighter. 

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £49 and then raise a minimum of £350 payable 10 weeks before departure.

 

CORNISH COASTAL CHALLENGE

15th September 2023

 

 

This beautiful weekend trek follows the dramatic coastline of North Cornwall. The landscapes are spectacular with rugged cliffs, hidden coves and old fishing villages forming a beautiful backdrop to the blue sea. Starting at Harlyn Bay, west of Padstow, you will walk for 24 hilly miles to St Agnes - a challenging distance considering the terrain. You'll pass the well-known beach stacks of Bedruthan Steps, as well as old reminders of Cornwall's mining heritage, while Poldark fans will recognise some key filming locations, such as Holywell Bay, with the much-filmed Gull Rocks off-shore.  

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £80 and then raise a minimum of £660 payable 10 weeks before departure.

 

THE ROYAL PARKS HALF MARATHON

9th October 2022

 

 

A scenic 13.1 mile route that winds its way through London’s famous parks, this is a fantastic run that takes place on closed roads, passing through Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. We will allocate places for this run on a first come first served basis – they are usually very popular so don’t delay if you’re keen.

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £30 and to raise a minimum of £220 each.


NORTHERN LIGHTS WINTER TREK

1st November 2023

 

Iceland lies on the edge of the Arctic Circle and is home to some of Europe's greatest wild landscapes. A land of incredible contrast and natural beauty, its wild volcanic landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs, geysers and waterfalls, combined with its rich history, literature and folklore make it a fascinating country to explore. You will trek through a striking mix of geothermal valleys and beautiful mountain scenery, streams and waterfalls. There will be snow underfoot so it's challenging walking, but no technical expertise is required as you take advantage of seeing this beautiful regiong in winter. Staying in a spectacular environment surrounded by lakes and mountain scenery, miles from the nearest big towns, the dark skies offer a great chance of seeing the spectacular Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

 

For this challenge we ask participants to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £299 and then raise minimum of £3,200 each payable 10 weeks before departure.
